Are Cheap Color Contact Lenses Worth Buying?

Posted in Uncategorized on December 31st, 2008

Although they may not like the sound of it at first, cheap colored contacts lenses may very well be appealing to a big audience. As the name suggests, cheap contacts don’t cost a lot of cash. While some brands of contacts may be very costly, there are other brands that do not cost a lot. When you compare them, there really is not that many differences.

A lot of contact lens users feel that the less expensive brands of contacts are reliable, dependable, comfortable, and above everything else - affordable. Even though cheap lenses are looked highly upon by some - others don’t look at them in the same manner. Some feel that cheaper lenses should be avoided at all cost, for the fear that they may harm vision or not offer the same quality that the more expensive brands of contacts offer.

People who do not wear contacts but have interest in them, may find a cheap pair of contacts to be the ideal way to try them out. If you purchase a cheap pair of contacts it will not cost you a ton of money, yet it will give you the satisfaction in knowing whether or not contacts are for you. Unlike glasses, contact lenses will not shatter or dangle from your face. Contacts are a great choice for many, for the simple reason that they feel natural - kind of like a pair of eyes that you never knew you had.

A thought to keep in mind, is the fact that cheap color contacts aren’t the best of quality. As the name suggests, these types of lens are cheap in price - and also quality. Normally, they are the way to go for people who can’t afford the better brands. Even though the quality is not the best in the world, those who wear cheap contacts usually do not have any complaints.

Although some people will view cheap non prescription color contacts as the best purchase, others will view them as a waste of money. This is all about preference, and what you feel is the best for you. If you have the money to spare, you would be better off obtaining a pair of brand name contacts. However, if you are on a fixed budget, cheap contact lenses would be just fine - at least until you get the funds to purchase one of the better brands.

Cheap contacts can be located on the Internet, or at your local optician’s office. They will not set you back a great deal of money, yet they will provide you the vision you need. Contacts are a terrific alternative to glasses, especially for those who require glasses but hate to wear them. Contact lenses are what they are - the ideal way to get the vision you need without putting on glasses. Cheap contacts are a great solution to glasses - at a price people can afford.

Darlington Junior Football

Posted in Uncategorized on December 30th, 2008

I would just like to let people know about the great junior football teams that play in and around Darlington . Co Durham. In no particular order we have Middleton Rangers , 21st Allstars , Spraire Lads and Lasses , Mount Pleasant Juniors and Darlington TSC

I have found a great Darlington football site that allows the parents , coaches or even the players to give their match reports or even just to write their thoughts on the local game down. Lots of freindly banter and the like, each team believing they are the best and many reasons why they should have won on that cold wet day at the end of December.

Having been a parent and supporter for many years I appreciate how much effort that all the coaches put into the training of the children .It is not just about the hour or so training on Saturday and the game on the Sunday. They are the ones that have to arrange the matches ,transport all the kit and ringing around the parents. Then comes the hard part I am sure who is playing where and that never goes down well with the parents as we all have a budding striker and none of us really want our child at the back or even worse in goal .Where is the glory in that strikers tend to get the cheers and the defenders should have managed to get a foot to it.

That is until the team has been together a few years and everybody realises football is a team game and only if everyone is doing their job whatever that may be will the team have a chance of doing well

Payday Loans - Questions and Answers

Posted in Uncategorized on December 30th, 2008

For most individuals, making ends meet can be very difficult. It is very disheartening that most individuals are living from check to check. For those individuals, their world is turned upside down and they find themselves in serious financial trouble when an emergency arises. Banks may not loan them money for a variety of reasons. They may not have any collateral or their credit is not good enough, or the amount may be too small to borrow. Many visit pawn shops and sell their important items at a fraction of what they are worth. If you need money and need it quickly, there are other options to consider. Payday loans might be able to help you out until your next payday. Also remember, there are benefits to payday loans and there are also payday loan drawbacks. Be sure to do your research before taking out this type of loan.

Below are some common questions and concerns regarding payday loans.

Payday Loans - What are They?

Basically, payday loans are short term loans made by specialized companies. Depending on when your payday is, these loans are designed to be repaid within two to four weeks. The process of taking out the loan is fairly simple and the money you receive can be used for anything. The income level will determine the amount you can borrow. The amount of money borrowed will determine the amount of interest. You credit will not be checked and payday loan companies do not report to credit agencies.

What Type of Information Will I Have to Provide?

A few items will be required from you, the first being an open checking account, which has been open for three months or longer. For verification purposes, you will need to bring in your most recent bank statement. You will also have to provide identification and your most recent paycheck stub. Some companies will want you to provide a copy of a utility bill to provide proof of address. Some payday loan businesses require additional items and you will have to ask them what they specifically require.

Car loan tips

Posted in Uncategorized on December 30th, 2008

Buying a motor car can be an exciting - and stressful - purchase. Getting your “wheels” - whether it’s for the first, second or tenth time - can be fun… but negotiating with car dealers and lenders can be a rather painful exercise. So how can you get the motor car you want, and also have the means to pay for it with one of the low interest car loans available? Read on - I have some critical car loans information to share with you.

The first thing to do before buying a car, or getting a loan from anyone, is to assess your financial situation. How much do you need? What payments can you afford? Create a budget of all your personal costs and work out what you can comfortably live with. And let me emphasize the word “comfortably” - you don’t want to be struggling to meet your car payment each month. If an unexpected bill comes in - for example, a health bill or a tax liability - you could find yourself in a very difficult situation.

It’s crucial that you also allow for the charges involved in keeping your vehicle on the road. These are your insurance premiums, petrol/gas costs, and the expenditure required to keep the vehicle in, at the very least, a roadworthy condition. You may also need to think about any additional costs that you may have (or have not) been planning on: window tinting, converting the car from running on petrol to gas, or any kind of remodeling.

Once you know what you can afford, you’re in a position to start hunting for the right deal. By all means, visit each dealership selling those motor cars that appeal to you. But, whatever you do, don’t buy straight away. Not until you’ve used a car loans calculator to peruse the best available low interest car loans on offer. Alternatively, if you have a poor credit history - or no credit history - one of the no credit car loans may be more suitable for you.

When you like the look of at least two different car financing options, make an appointment to see the lenders in question. By talking with them about your circumstances, they may even agree to a loan arrangement that is more tailored to your needs.

If you’ve found the right motor car and have negotiated an attractive financing arrangement, all you need to do now is buy the motor car and meet your monthly payments!

Philippine Folk Dances

Posted in Uncategorized on December 30th, 2008

In the East, the Chinese have their symbolical dragon dance; the Japanese have the ancestral dance Bon Odori. In the West, the Americans have their Square Dance. On the other hand, the Philippines, the ?Pearl of the Orient? boasts of a variety of Philippine folk dances.

The Filipinos pay tributes and owe itself to cultural heritage. One way of showing such love and respect for the country gave birth to the development of Philippine ethnic folk dances. Two of these are Binasuan and Tinikling.

Binasuan is a native dance of Pangasinan. This dance literally means ?dancing with glasses.? The steps are executed with glasses filled with rice wine balanced on the head and the hands of the dancers. Danced to show balance and to reflect rural gaiety, Binasuan is performed usually in wedding ceremonies and occasions in the barangay.

Tinikling is another Philippine folk dance that is inspired by an endemic bird called ?tikling.? The steps of this dance are an imitation of the movements of a ?tikling? bird that hops and escapes the traps set by hunters. Moving with poise and grace, the dancers skip in-between two bamboo poles that are held to pound rhythmically against each other. This dance is a specialty of Leyte.

These folk dances whether ethnic in origin or not reflect the lively culture that the Filipinos have. These dances may be diverse but through these cultural forms, the Filipinos are unified and proud by way of having Philippine folk dances that are truly one of the bests in the world.

Move A Lot?

Posted in Uncategorized on December 28th, 2008

Have you ever met someone that moves a great deal? My son definitely falls into this category. He has always been this way. He even liked to move from one bed room to another within our house when he was growing up. He would tell me that he liked to see the different scenery out the windows. He enjoys meeting new people and seeing different parts of the country. He has long term stable friendships; yet is likes to meet new people as well. He is a consultant with a major marketing firm. The consultation job means that he does a great deal of traveling which is perfect for him.

In the position that he is in he needs to stay in one place for six months to a year and then travels to another company in a different location. He likes to rent different apartments in the cities that he works in rather than renting hotel suites.

By living in apartments he gets to know more people outside those that are working for the company is a consultant for. All this moving does create a problem regarding his mail. He can have many things sent to his home office address however there are bills and personal mail that he likes to receive when he is staying in the various apartments. He uses a change of address service to help him keep track of his mail.

When he first started his job he would notify the post offices of his various moves, however it was difficult for his mail to keep up with him. This caused some missed bills as well as missed personal correspondence. My realtor in Brigantine NJ showed me this change of address service. So my son was concerned his credit rating would become affected so he hired a change of address service to help him with his mailing. This has been very helpful for him and for those of us that want to send him things.

He maintains the same email address and the same cell phone number; however there are times when regular mail needs to be sent.

The change of address service is who he contacts when he is going to relocate. He lets them know where he had lived and where he is moving to. The service then tracks all of his incoming mail to make sure that it gets forwarded to where it needs to be. Since he has been using the service he is no longer missing billing dates or personal correspondence. This works much better than trying to have someone from his home office forward the mail to him.

I hope some day that he will settle down in one place, but for now he seems very content with his roaming lifestyle.

History of Mistletoe

Posted in Uncategorized on December 28th, 2008

History of Mistletoe

The mistletoe, native to the forests of Northern Europe, is a parasite implant on deciduous and evergreen trees which produces yellowish flowers and waxy white berries. Its closest relative in North America has yellowish flowers and waxy white berries, and is also commonly known as mistletoe. Notably, it is the official floral emblem of the State of Oklahoma.

The name mistletoe came about from two Anglo - Saxon words: mistel which means dung and tan which means twig. And so, mistletoe quite literally means dung on a twig. Mistletoe infers that life can spring up from dung. This leeching plant grows and thrives on the dung of birds on the branches of trees. As a result, mistletoe became the symbol of vivacity and fertility.

The Christmas and New Year tradition of embracing for the bashful and kissing for the brazen under a sprig of mistletoe dates back to olden Britain. Also, it was prevalent among the Druids who were the learned class of the Celts.

The Druids celebrated the beginning of winter ( winter solstice ) by collecting mistletoe and burning it as a sacrifice to their pagan gods. To ensure a year of good faith, peace, and familial harmony, they hung sprigs of mistletoe around their homes. Twigs of the evergreen displayed visibly outside their homes welcomed relatives, friends, neighbors and weary travelers and the mistletoe within encouraged them to embrace shamelessly. Feuding parties or foes who happened to meet under trees that contained mistletoe were required to lay aside their weapons and settle their differences.

The Druids believed that the mistletoe had healing properties. It was often prescribed for female infertility and as an antidote for poisons of all kinds. The gathering of mistletoe was a ceremony by the highest priests using gold knives. Such a carefree rite of harvesting mistletoe is dramatically portrayed in Bellinis opera Norma.

The Celtic Druids were not the only people who ascribed so many marvelous attributes to the mistletoe, the Scandinavians, who called it mistilteinn; also believed that it was the plant of peace, the plant of hope and the plant of harmony. The Scandinavian lore claims that the mistletoe belonged to Frigga, the Scandinavian star of inclination, and the embracing and kissing custom is thought to have come from this notion.

Mistletoe was also used for a decorative green in the Roman Empire during their feasts of Natalis Solis Invicti and Saturnalia. Due to its ties to idolatrous festivities, the Church banned the use of mistletoe when Christmas on December 25 was officially recognized as the birth of Christ in the the fourth century.

As an alternative to the mistletoe, the holly was ironically proposed even thought it too had strong associations with atheist rituals. Nevertheless, the hollys white flowers were to signify the purity of Christ, the acerbic leaves were to symbolize the thorns in Christs crown and the red berries as drops of His blood. Thus, the Holly became a Nativity tradition, but, surprisingly enough, the churchs ban on mistletoe which was in effect throughout the Middle Ages still persists today.

Paid Survey Myths and Facts

Posted in Uncategorized on December 27th, 2008

Thousands of people are trying to find a way to make some extra money on the internet everyday , it is no real surprise that online paid survey websites are being launched all over the place . With so many survey sites out there (some good, some bad) it’s hard to tell what to believe. In an attempt to clarify the ins and outs, and the myths and facts of paid surveys. I’ve composed a set of common myths about Paid surveys and answers to help you sort everything out . I’m going to start with the basics and then get into the finer points about online paid surveys.

Myth 1: Online Paid Surveys Aren’t for Real
Fact: Paid Surveys are for real. There are literally hundreds of legitimate market researchers out there who will pay you for sharing your opinion . Retailers have employed these research companies to get public opinions on their products or services and are willing to outlay cash to find out what consumers think. These research firms then compensate you. One such popular survey company is Ipsos. You can join their Ipsos i-Say Survey Panel for free and take surveys for cash and prizes.

Myth 2: Paid Surveys are only for US and Canada
Fact: Those who live in the USA do get the most survey opportunities , but you can participate from almost any country . In addition to Canada, UK Paid Surveys are available. Other popular countries that have market research companies are New Zealand and Australia in addition to most of the major western European countries.

Myth 3: Survey Companies only offer Rewards - Your Can’t Get Cash Payments Anymore.
Fact: This is partially true. As the economy has declined , many companies are reducing their market research budgets . Research firms, in an attempt to increase the number of participants, have begun offering more rewards and sweepstakes than in years past. But incentives vary for each site, and it is still possible to find paid surveys that offer cash only payouts. many survey sites in order to maximize your surve opportunities , but you don’t have to pay for one of those database sites. In fact, market research firms are actually prohibited from charging people to participate in surveys and frown upon anyone who does charge such a fee. PaidSurveyMall is a free paid survey database site that gives you access to 400+ market research companies at no charge.

Myth 5: I Can Get Rich just by Taking Online Paid Surveys
Fact: Sorry, but no you can’t. In fact, you won’t even be able to make a full time income from it. I’ve had many people ask me if it is possible to retire or quit their jobs by taking online surveys. Sadly, that’s just not going to happen. Survey taking should be viewed as extra spending money, not a career. You can easily make enough to take the family out for dinner, play a few rounds of golf, spruce up the house or yard, or just save it for your doing your Christmas shopping.

Survey taking is not going to make you rich, but it is an easy and fun way to make a few extra bucks. If you decide to do it, I hope you find survey taking fun and profitable.
